Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P50G10 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV User Review

This unit weighs roughly 75 pounds, and it comes unattached to its base. Installing it requires two strong men who know what they are doing even when it is to be placed on a table or TV stand-the TV must be lifted onto the base and then screwed to it. Hanging it on a wall would probably require three men.

The Panasonic tech people demonstrated no interest in helping me connect this device to another product called TV Ears which broadcasts to a set of headphones. TV Ears requires an “audio out” socket which the Panasonic lacks. I tried all of the audio sockets on the Panasonic, and none worked.

The picture quality is excellent although initially our Charter Cable installer attached the Panasonic to the set top box with RCA cables. The result is what appears to be a 720p image. This unit (and undoubtedly all 1080p sets) requires an HDMI cable. This information is provided in passing with no particular emphasis in the poorly written Panasonic manual.

Overall, getting this unit to work with the other components in our system has taken weeks of effort, roughly a dozen e-mails, and multiple trips to local stores. If I knew when I bought it how irritating and expensive the process would be, I would have waited for my ordinary television to wear out.

Panasonic TH-50PX75U 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV User Review

I have had 2 Panasonic Plasma TV’s and I can’t be happier with them. One of them just quit on me this week, and so I went to shop around. The basic reason is that we lived for three years on the beachfront and the sea breeze got to it. So I went out shopping for another TV. Looked at LCD and Plasma, but LCD have been having more technical problems lately, also their level of black is never quite the same, plus there are serious issues when watching sports or any film with a great deal of action. Thus I ended going back to a Plasma. Was about to purchase a Full HD from Samsung, but found its image quality worse than my old Panasonic. So I went back and purchased another Panasonic, equivalent model to my older one, only difference was the price, about 25% of the price of my first plasma. Thought about purchasing a Panasonic Full HD, but since I watch Full HD films on my Panasonic Projector, and this TV will be in the basement I went with 768p.

Panasonic TH-50PZ850U 50-inch Viera 1080p Plasma HDTV User Review

I have had the Panasonic TH-50PZ850U for about 6 months. I spent about 00 with extended warranty. So far, I have been impressed. The resolution was top notch. I used “Finding Nemo” to test the colors. On the vivid setting it was fantastic… Probably a bit exaggerated. The Studio ref mode offers more accurate colors. The THX settings on the 800U may be more accurate, but I would love to have a little bit of oomph to the colors even if it is not accurate. Don’t we all like “exaggerated fake ones”!
Clearly this TV is a winner. It comes close to the blacks in a pioneer and the THX accuracy of the 800U. It matches the Brilliant colors of a Samsung or probably even better. It has improved energy savings, better anti glare screen, wider viewing angle, and a web interface via viera cast. I am going to set up the viera cast soon. I cannot find another TV that packs more.
The speakers are great. I moved to a smaller home and had to keep the surround speakers in storage, but I don’t feel the need for them.
It is easy to assemble and set up. You won’t need a professional. I bought an upconverting DVD player to watch all my old DVDs and the difference is obvious. I am yet to watch Blu-ray movies. I am waiting for a good blu ray player that can also play movies stored on an external hard drive through a USB connection.
Like others have mentioned, the only bug – if a player is connected through a HDMI port it will switch out another that is connected via component cables.

VIZIO VL370M – 37″ LCD TV – widescreen – 1080p (FullHD) – HDTV User Review

This TV is Great! Picked it up at SAMS Club for 578.00. This thing pretty much set itself up without too many commands from me. We have basic cable with what we thought were only a few channels available but, when we plugged the Vizio in, it automatically scanned for veiwable channels and now we have about 10 more channels than we had before. If your looking for a good looking, affordable, easy to use TV, this is it! The menus are pretty easy to use and actually make sense. Also, in most menus there is a reset option in case you get lost and can’t remember what you changed. We also have the Bose 321 system with HDMI (wich looks amazing) and Roku (netflix) with HDMI and pretty soon the PS3 with HDMI. It just so happens there are 3 conveniantly placed HDMI inputs on the TV. Hands down, one of the best decisions I’ve made in a while

Panasonic VIERA S1 Series TC-L32S1 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV User Review

I purchased this set to get rid of a heavy tube HD set, but couldn’t afford a high priced LED set. For the money, this set is an excellent value. I have Dish Network for tv with an HDMI input, and a regular DVD player with an HDMI “upconvert” feature. The picture is wonderful on both inputs. You can adjust the picture as you wish with the remote control menu.

Now for the minor flaws.
1) You do have to turn the volume way up. I thought at first it was because I have a noisy heat pump fan (I had just moved here when I got the set). But it’s not a major issue for me, and I can use the stereo if need be. I notice it more on DVD’s than Dish.
2) The set would turn off and then back on by itself while watching it, so I tried plugging it directly into the wall instead of the surge protector. That solved the problem, but since we have lightening storms and frequent surges from the electric company, I don’t want to take a chance. I replaced the old surge protector, it doesn’t do it as much now.
3) The remote control is not easy to use. The sleep timer only gives you three choices: 30, 60, and 90 minutes. I prefer my old set that went in 10 minute increments up to 2 hours, but again, a minor issue. I normally use my Dish remote control to turn it on and off and adjust the sound.
4) It claims to have a feature that helps with motion scenes, but I notice some fast motion scenes are choppy, a problem that plauged earlier LCD sets.

It sounds like a lot of complaints, but I know people who paid mega-bucks for their set and have many more complaints than me, so as I say those are minor complaints and overall I’m satisfied with the set.

Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-P42X1 42-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV User Review

Yes. 720P is enough. 42 inch is also enough for me (less than 3 meter distance).
CONS: But the channel scan is not perfect. 1st, each time you scan auto, the previous result is remove all. Because now is digital TV broadcast, so you may not scan all channel at one time due to antenna direction(if you haven’t cable service). That’s a problem for me. Sometimes I could found channel 4 and 11, but now I couldn’t while almost 44 channel are scan out.
Shipping is not so good. Pilot customer service seem to lie to me. They didn’t call me by shipping date. I called the customer service and she said they already called me but no answer. But my wife stayed in home all day, and there is answer system with my home phone. I really doubt they always play this tricky. Also the guys take the TV into my living room and mount the TV. But they left the package box.
