Panasonic TH-42PZ77U 42″ 1080p Plasma HDTV User Review

TH-42PZ77U, as of 12/2/08 have owned for 362 days. Now about every 30 seconds hear this loud case popping noise from the rear of the set, seems to have gotten worse in last month. Tech rep coming out next week, will be covered under 1 year warranty. See lots of this complaint on similar Panasonics on the web, some say to get it out of vivid mode and turn down the brightness, others say there is a special kit from Panasonic that has felt pads they install in the case somewhere. Panasonic guy on phone said they all do it but not all the time like I described. It’s a thermal problem that is causing the cracking/popping sound of the case. Anyone else have this problem ? Great TV otherwise. Seems to occur more when high motion/graphics are being displayed compared to stationary scenes, probably pulling more current and generating more heat.

Panasonic VIERA U1 Series TC-P46U1 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV User Review

The arrival (just a few days after ordering it online) was exciting! Delivery men carried the big box into the house, opened it, took the big set (46 inch screen) out and plugged it in to check if it worked. It DID! They left, and I got busy reading the big manual that described the installation and hook-up. My wife and I could lift the big set, and I followed the diagrams in the book, attaching our other Panasonic gear, the disc player and tape players, and home theatre speakers. We turned it on, and it worked! We’ve never seen such a terrific picture, sound and picture control! We have MANY classic tapes and discs, collected over the years, and we watch opera, and classical music presentations often. The Panasonic Viera 46 inch set is a marvelous addition to our home!

VIZIO VO320E 32-Inch ECO 720p LCD HDTV User Review

As others have posted, I was hesitant to buy a TV on line. But, based on what some reviewers said, I made the move and was extremely satisfied with Amazon’s handling of the order. With free shipping and a promise of 5-9 business days, I ordered it late on a Wed. night and it was on my porch by noon on Sat. Unbelievable! I do wonder why they would deliver a TV without a signature and just leave it on a porch, visible to anyone passing by, in an unwrapped box, clearing showing that it is an LCD TV. A dishonest person, which I am obviously not, could say they never got it and there is no proof that it was delivered. This is an Amazon decision, to not require a signature and it seems foolish to me.

Out of the carton, without a cable box and just attaching the coaxial cable straight from the wall, the picture is terrific and equals my 42 inch Panasonic plasma TV with an HD cable box. I haven’t even attached the Comcast adapter yet and I am amazed with the crispness of the picture, lack of distortion and the color quality is great. I don’t think I will even bother to tweak the settings. Attaching the base is simply done with a single thumb screw.

I have external speakers that I used with my last TV and I’m not sure if I’m going to bother switching to them. The sound quality is fine for me as it is.

Panasonic TC-P50C2 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV User Review

I’ve had this TV almost a week and like it more everyday.
Bought it from Best Buy for 0 with free delivery and set up.
When the delivery guys set it up, thye told me that in order to get
the picture that I saw in the showroom, that I had to switch out
my Direct TV receiver and dish to HD. Called Direct TV and had the HD
dish and receiver installed. Boy, what a difference. I can’t get
over how great the picture is, and you can’t beat the price. I played
BB against HHGregg, and they both fell over each other trying to get the sale.
It listed for 0 at both places, but I got it for 0. I’ve read about
buzzing noise complaints, but I have not had this problem. This is the 2010
version of this model. I’m a happy camper.
